ShoreTel hires marketing lead for APAC

Telecommunications company, ShoreTel, has appointed Emma McCormack to lead its Asia-Pacific marketing operations from Sydney as director.

This is a newly-created position aligned with the company's investment and growth objectives for APAC.

In the role, McCormack is responsible for ShoreTel's marketing strategy across the region, which currently includes 12 countries.

According to the telco, her initial priorities are to build brand awareness and demand for ShoreTel's product and solution sets, and to develop its partners' sales and marketing capabilities.

"ShoreTel has a 100 per cent channel strategy, so it is absolutely critical that our sales and marketing efforts are focused on delivering outcomes for our partners," ShoreTel Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) managing director, Jamie Romanin, said.

"With more than 15 years' experience in marketing roles for IT vendors, including the past nine specialising in telecommunications and contact centres, [McCormack] has developed a deep understanding of the channel and what our partners need."

McCormack's career began in 1997 with UK software firm, Systems Union, which was later acquired by Infor. She then worked for PeopleSoft in Australia and the US.

Before ShoreTel, she worked for Avaya for almost nine years. Most recently, she was APAC marketing programmes manager for the vendor's contact centre solutions.
