Smartphone subscriptions in South East Asia and Oceania to triple by 2020

By 2020, mobile traffic in the region will multiply nine times, reaching three Exabytes per month.

In fact, Ericsson analysis shows that data-intensive applications - such as video streaming - could easily be delivered by mobile networks in Singapore and Australia. However, the same services could pose as a challenge for operators to deliver in developing countries in the region. Nonetheless, Saba predicts that the developing countries' network performance will greatly improve over the coming years.
