South Africa forms backdrop for Intel's latest channel campaign

Semiconductor manufacturer encourages channel partners to drive post-XP sales.

Intel Australia has launched a channel campaign that will culminate in a trip for winners to South Africa.

The Go Wild promotion is a collaborative effort between the semiconductor manufacturer and Microsoft, where highest performing resellers have the chance to win one of 12 trips.

Intel Australia national marketing manager, Danielle Watts, said the Go Wild campaign is designed to drive sales in the channel in the lead-up to the end of the financial year.

"There is also Windows XP end-of-life messaging integrated there as well," she said.

What makes this promotion different from past ones carried out by Intel is the larger number of qualified products, spanning tablets, 2-in-1 solutions, desktops, and the NUC.

Towards Africa
As for why South Africa was chosen as the destination, Watts said it is "high on everyone's bucket list."

"We did some research with a creative agency and they came up with a couple of options, but we felt South Africa was the most attractive," she said.

Campaign winners will be flown to South Africa for a five day trip that includes a safari, rugby match, and a night on the town.

Watts adds the promotion is not limited to only business owners but also sales people within the sales side of the organisation.
