The Innotribe Startup Challenge 2014 is now on.

The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications or SWIFT  announced the contest's launch towards mid-November, saying next year's Challenge expects to  attract the participation of hundreds of early startups and growth stage innovators from around the world.

Innotribe is a SWIFT initiative to enable collaborative innovation in financial services.

The Challenge offers technology entrepreneurs opportunities to present path breaking products and services before finance technology executives, finance industry leaders, and early stage investors.

Finals for Innotribe Challenge 2014 will take place October 1 next year at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center when SWIFT holds  its annual conference there  from September 29  to October 2.

There earlier will be one regional showcase or elimination round in London (May 1, 2014), Singapore (May 15,2014) , and New York (June on a still to be announced date).

In each showcase, three startups and two growth stage innovators will be chosen as finalists.

The Innotribe Startup Challenge 2014 is open to startups and growth stage companies established within the past three years and into the delivery of technology-based innovations in financial technology, financial services, and similar undertakings.

To qualify, startups must have a working prototype of their innovation and less than US $ 1 million in revenues or capitalization.

Growth stage companies must introduce innovations not yet announced publicly.
