U Mobile has unveiled its plans for the New Year, which includes new prepaid and postpaid plans as well as U Card loyalty initiatives, said the Malaysian telecom.
U Mobile's director of marketing Jasmine Lee said the refreshed subscription plans, which included the local market's lowest entry plan, also offered services where customers can share their calls and internet with up to three mobile devices.
Each SIM comes with an individual mobile number and can be used as a 2nd line (on the second device) or acts as a Family line, said Lee. "Subscribers who travel to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam can also enjoy unlimited Internet roaming service at RM30 [US$9.05] per day."
She added that these Internet and Calls Sharing services make U Mobile the first telecom in the local market to offer such services. "U Mobile customers can also look forward to mobile experience with the refreshed prepaid plan by the telecom, where they will enjoy free calls and free mobile internet after every top-up."
Lee said customers can surf the Internet with speeds up to 4Mbps "without throttling of the speed upon exceeding their data limit, and enjoy free calls to all U Mobile users, "The new prepaid plan by U Mobile also offers twice the validity period in the market, offering ample time for users to enjoy offerings from U Mobile prepaid service."

The new unlimited postpaid plans - Unlimited 50 and Unlimited 80 - offer customers unlimited free calls to any U Mobile user any time of the day without time bands, along with unlimited high speed mobile internet, said Lee. "Subscribers can enjoy LTE internet speed in selected areas within Klang Valley and Johor Bahru, and high speed 3G mobile internet nationwide. Upon exceeding their data limit, U Mobile customers can still surf the Internet without additional charges, subject to fair usage policy."
In addition, U Mobile also enhanced its existing Unlimited Mobile Internet (UMI) Plan for UMI 28 and UMI 38 variants, where customers are given 1GB of data plus free calls and free SMS.
"We will continue to surprise our customers and introduce more innovative products and services that meet their mobile needs, enabling them to stay connected with friends and family," she said, adding that the New Year festivities would include special promotions to its U Card holders.
"Our new prepaid and postpaid offerings, along with the new enhancements within the U Card programme, are also timely, as customers can be relieved from hefty mobile expenses in the midst of rising cost of living," said Lee.
