Chief marketing officer to manage expanding market for Malaysian converged mobile 4G network: YTL Communications.

Malaysia-based WiMAX operator YTL communications has appointed Chee Pok Jin as its new chief marketing officer (CMO) to help manage the expansion of its converged mobile data with voice network, called Yes 4G, said the company.

"We are tremendously delighted to have Mr. Chee on board. He is a seasoned marketing professional who brings a great deal of sales, marketing, branding, and project development experience to YTL Communications," said YTL Communications chief executive officer, Wing K. Lee. "As we look forward to bring more innovation and positive change to Malaysians through Yes, Mr. Chee will serve as a valuable resource and leader to position our services and value propositions to an expanding customer base."

Lee said Chee has more than 30 years of working experience in retail operations, brand management, technology and consumer sales and distributions, marketing, IT and corporate affairs experience from industry sectors that include FMCG [fast moving consumer goods], banking, and telecommunications. "Mr. Chee joins YTL Communications after a successful tenure at Celcom Axiata where he was the COO of new business before assuming the role as the CMO."

Prior to his stint in Celcom, Chee was the COO in Mobile-8 Telecom in Indonesia, CMO in DiGi, Senior GM in Harpers Trading, head of marketing and product management in Maxis, head of sales in Citibank and director of sales - Singapore and Malaysia for Procter & Gamble.
