Content delivery network service provider Akamai Technologies recently partnered True Intenet, an Internet service provider in Thailand.
Under the collaboration, Akamai's full suite of solutions in Web Performance, Media Delivery and Web Security will be available to businesses in Thailand through True Internet. True Internet will also join the NetAlliance Partner Programme, which enables partners to align with Akamai through various programmes including training and certification as well as sales and pre-sales support.
According to ICT consulting firm Yozzo, broadband penetration in Thailand is steadily increasing, with 39.3 percent of Thailand's population using the Internet as of December 2015, up from 23.7 percent in 2011.
"With ongoing plans to further strengthen the national digital infrastructure in Thailand, the required bandwidth is expected to keep rising," said Vasu Khunvasi, General Manager, True Internet.
"Enterprises in mission-critical industries such as financial services, media and the public sector are witnessing a growing demand for digital content from their customers. In order to help them connect and engage with their customers in more meaningful ways, we need to ensure we are able to equip them with the tools necessary to maintain a secure, reliable and engaging web presence... [which is enabled through this partnership]," he added.
Graeme Beardsell, Managing Director, Asia Pacific & Japan, Akamai, added: "Consumers and businesses [today] seek fast, secure and seamless experiences across a variety of devices. To remain competitive, many businesses are looking for scalable solutions that help to improve user experience, customer conversion rates and more. This partnership brings together two major players with the aim of offering innovative solutions for optimising online media, web-based applications and mobile content to Thailand's market."
