Global provider of business communications and collaboration systems and services Avaya has acquired UK-based company Aurix, a global provider of speech analytics and audio data mining technology, according to Francois Lancon, president, Asia Pacific, Avaya.
Lancon shared information about Avaya's latest acquisition at Avaya's Asia Pacific (APAC) channel partners conference in Bangkok on Wednesday (19 October).
"The acquisition will enable Avaya to add speech analytics to Contact Center and Unified Communications solutions," he said.
Aurix is a phonetic audio search engine built on scalable, open architecture enables real-time and historical analysis of one-to-one or group spoken interactions. According to Lancon, Aurix's software scans through audio databases eighty times faster than other software.
Though Lancon did not put any dollar value on the deal, he said that Aurix has 24 employees and all of them will be with Avaya after the acquisition.
