New web-based import shipment tool helps companies control shipping.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, 28 MARCH 2011 – Logistics company DHL has upgraded its online shipment tool to help customers securely move their goods from the comfort of their desktop.

DHL says its Import Express Online booking tool is available to customers 24/7 and does not require them to download any software. It eliminates paperwork and gives customers the flexibility to manage their shipments with user-friendly navigation cues.

The logistics firm says the Internet-based tool features accurate transit time and rate quote calculations, piece-level shipment preparation and tracking visibility. It also allows importers to attach documents to the shipment instructions and provide shippers at origin with standing authorizations.

Most comprehensive importing tool

“DHL Import Express Online offers more than 15 user options, making it the most comprehensive importing tool in the online marketplace,” said Jimmy Yeoh, CIO, Asia Pacific & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, DHL Express.

“Accessible 24/7, customers can set up e-mail instructions and prepare shipment labels or invoices, securely and simply.”

According to DHL’s official statement, the enhanced online tool extends the benefits available to customers importing with DHL Import Express Worldwide, DHL’s business-to-business and door-to-door inbound delivery service for documents and packages coming from almost anywhere in the world.
