Ditching your 360? Amazon offers Xbox One game upgrades for $10

Ian Paul | Aug. 21, 2013
If you buy one of this year's hot titles on the Xbox 360, Amazon will let you trade it (and $10) in for its Xbox One counterpart.

Take it easy
Helping to ease the awkward transition between the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One without breaking the bank is becoming something of a theme for Microsoft and its partners. Last Wednesday, Microsoft announced a Season Pass Guarantee for select titles that automatically grants you an Xbox One season pass when you purchase the same pass for the Xbox 360. Season passes are a way to encourage gamers to pay in advance for multiple sets of downloadable gameplay content slated to come out for their favorite games.

Microsoft didn't specify all the games the season pass guarantee will work with, but the company did say the guarantee will be applicable to Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4.

The only downside to Microsoft's deal? You have to own both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One versions to be eligible--but that's where deals like Amazon's and GameStop's come in.
