EE has launched a text appeal and donation website to raise funds for UNICEF's Philippines appeal.

EE will be promoting the text code and website to its customers through an SMS campaign and digital media. The text code is 70800, texting YES to this number delivers a donation of £5.

Donations of varying amounts can also be made at www.unicef.org.uk/eeforunicef. In both cases funds go directly to UNICEF UK's Children's Emergency Fund.

Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines last week. An estimated 11.3 million people in the Philippines have been affected by the disaster, including more than 4 million children.

Thousands of homes have been destroyed, roads are impassable and people are in need of food, water, shelter and power. The funds raised in the EE appeal will provide aid to support children and families in the region.

EE is an official UNICEF disaster emergency relief partner.
