Manufactured in Finland, Nanocomp’s products are exported to China.

Nanocomp is expanding its operations to Hong Kong, the designer and manufacturer of nano-optics from Joensuu, Finland, announced on 23 April.

Nanocomp designs and manufactures nano-optical components which can be controlled with the flow of light with extreme, nanometer-scale precision. The products are used in mobile and tablet screens, flash light lenses, lamps and indicator lights as well as in a variety of measuring devices and machine vision applications.

The company's revenue derives almost entirely from Asia, and due to a rapid expansion of exports, the company decided to set up an office closer to their customers in Hong Kong, Nanocomp said in a statement.

However, Nanocomp's design and manufacturing will remain in Finland.

According to Nanocomp, its Hong Kong office will focus on existing customers and technical support in the beginning. Later on, the office will also work with sales and marketing.

Nanocomp's turnover last financial year was EUR 6 million (US$7.8 million) and growing rapidly.
