A lesson for software vendors
The advice we can derive from this for software vendors is relatively straightforward: go a bit easy on the lingo and, most importantly, find the people within the company that know the business well enough to map it all out. Then make sure that these knowledgeable people are located firmly within the game plan for implementation. Given that change management is viewed by most IT managers as crucial in the rollout of STEs, it is also essential to get these people involved in the deployment phase.
