The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) has recognised HiSoft Technology (hiSoft) as an International Headquarters (IHQ) regional location.
This award enhances hiSoft's commitment to Singapore as a strategic gateway to the Asia South geography.
Headquartered in Dalian, China, HiSoft Technology is a China-based provider of outsourced information technology and research and development services.
The company has made significant investments in the nation during the past five years and provides comprehensive information technology consulting services in business applications development, quality assurance and testing.
"We are grateful for the EDB's support and the opportunities Singapore provides us to build and strengthen the partnerships we have with multinational clients," said hiSoft chief executive officer, Tiak Koon Loh.
"In conjunction with the solid infrastructure we have developed, this status hones our unique ability to provide clients a robust bridgehead into the region from which to deliver higher value-added services."
Fast growth region
This award seems well timed as Asia South was hiSoft's second fastest growth region in 2011, following China.
This region contributed 5.5 percent of hiSoft's total revenue of US$219 million in 2011.
hiSoft ranked first on the 2012 Top 50 Service Outsourcing Players in China list published by Devott Co.
Also, it ranked among the three largest China-based providers of offshore software development services by IDC in 2011.
"We welcome hiSoft's decision to locate its Asia South headquarters in Singapore, which will see the company develop knowledge-intensive capabilities in areas such as applications testing and cloud technologies," said EDB deputy managing director, Tan Choon Shian who presented the award in a ceremony to hiSoft.
"This will contribute to our ICT vision for Singapore to be a leading creation economy, powered by digital intelligence."
