Ryan Ding, President of Products and Solutions, accepts the award on behalf of Huawei
Huawei has been honoured for its innovative LampSite solution.
The company recently won Best Mobile Infrastructure Award at Mobile World Congress 2015.
Huawei LampSite is a centralized baseband Small Cell solution that provides targeted indoor coverage performance enhancements with better mobile broadband experience.
The solution can perform network architecture digitization, operation and maintenance digitization, and operational capability digitization.
LampSite also enhances business productivity for enterprises, and cultivates development of new data services and new subscribers.
"We would like to take this opportunity to extend our appreciation to the judging committee, all industry colleagues and the GSMA. Our vision is Open ROADS to a Better Connected World, and the LampSite solution is one of the elements that allows us to achieve this vision," said Ryan Ding, president of Huawei's Products and Solutions. "On behalf of our operator partners, we are extremely proud to have been the first to commercially introduce the LampSite solution almost two years ago. The solution is designed to be more scalable, flexible, as well as easier to deploy and manage."
Coverage at Beijing
Huawei recently completely the world's largest indoor coverage at Beijing International Airport by deploying its LampSite solution.
The deployment finished in three months and the total deployment cost decreased by 50% compared with that of a traditional deployment.
Huawei estimates that all its investments will be returned within two years.
Till date, LampSite solutions have been commercialized in more than 70 mobile operators in Europe, South-east Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.
"It is absolutely fitting that on the 20th anniversary of this GSMA award, Huawei's wireless product Line also happens to be celebrating its 20 year anniversary," added Ding. "During these past 20 years, Huawei has endeavored to drive forward the mobile industry through collaborations on commercialization, innovation and standardization. Looking ahead, we will continue to focus on customer-centric innovations and we remain committed to being the best business partner for all of our customers worldwide."
Established in 1996, the Global Mobile Awards is a highly sought after award in the global communications industry. The entries across the world are judged by a panel of independent experts.
