More reloading and payment outlets for beep cards to be available by end 2016

AFPI aims to expand the number of beep reloading outlets from 70 to 200 before the year ends.

AF Payments Inc. (AFPI) - a consortium of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. and Ayala Corp. - will set up reloading and payment outlets for beep cards in convenience stores before the year ends.

"Details are currently under wraps but before the year ends, a major convenience store chain will start implementing reloading and payment facilities via the beep card system," said AFPI in an article from the Philippine News Agency.

Beep card is a tap-and-go contactless and cashless payment solution which can be used to rail lines of LRT 1, LRT 2, and MRT 3, as well as with selected bus lines including HM Transport, Froehlich Tours, Citylink Coach Services, BGC Bus, and RRCG. It can also be used as toll payment at Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), and soon in the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).

Currently, the card can be reloaded at any LRT or MRT stations and in over 70 outlets of Bayad Centre, Tambunting, Villarica, and SM Bills Payment. In line, AFPI aims to expand the number of reloading outlets to 200 before this year ends.
