Muru-D hunts for tech startups

The Telstra-backed accelerator has asked for business ideas from tech entrepreneurs.

Telstra backed startup accelerator, muru-D is putting a calling out for technology entrepreneurs to put forward their digital business ideas in the third round of its Sydney-based program.

The 10 successful startups will get up to $60,000 seed capital investment, access to business support, a collaborative workspace, mentoring and coaching to help them develop and expand.

The call is also being extended to startups within the media industry following an agreement with Seven West Media, where one successful startup will get additional mentoring and support. Seven West Media’s chief digital officer, Clive Dickens will also sit on the advisory board.

“One of muru-D’s objectives is to grow and support the startup ecosystem in Australia,” muru-D co-founder, Annie Parker, said. “This means working with other corporations and organisations to help educate and advise them on the most meaningful way to participate.”

Applications for muru-D Class#3 close on October 31.

To date, it has held two classes in Sydney, one in Singapore and established two partnerships with The Icehouse in New Zealand, and River City Labs in Brisbane.
