NEC Corporation of Malaysia has signed a partnership with local distributor Ingram Micro, which will expand NEC's retail business in Malaysia, said the partners.
NEC Corporation of Malaysia's managing director, Andrew Lee, said: "We see great synergy in this collaboration between NEC and Ingram Micro, where NEC has the domain technology for retail products and solutions, and Ingram Micro is a very established distributor in this industry. We look forward to a lasting relationship with Ingram Micro through this initial collaboration to jointly expand our reach in this industry."

According to the Malaysia Retailer Association, Malaysia's total retail sales for 2011 exceeded RM83 billion (US$27.23 billion) and the industry registered a growth rate of 8.1 percent in 2011. The Malaysia Retailers Association remains optimistic of their businesses for first quarter of 2012, with expectations of sales to rise by 12.1 percent.
NEC Corporation of Malaysia also recently signed a partnership with local distributor Springlab Distribution to jointly expand the distribution of NEC's portfolio of IT platform products throughout Malaysia. Springlab will be a local value-added distributor for NEC's IT platform business, which includes servers, storage and notebooks.
