Polycom is transforming the open standards-based unified communications (UC) industry with the release of new solution suite.
The company has announced an extension to Polycom RealPresence Platform, the new RealPresence CloudAXIS Suite that enables customers to extend enterprise-grade video collaboration to users of Skype, Facebook, Google Talk, and other business video apps via a browser.
The newly announced breakthrough solutions can transform the industry, accelerate mass adoption of video collaboration, and open new growth opportunities for Polycom in both existing and new markets.
Running on the Polycom RealPresence Platform in private enterprise clouds or public clouds, the RealPresence CloudAXIS suite can enable high quality, reliable, secure and truly ubiquitous video collaboration.
"Today Polycom is transforming the industry with a solution that equips our customers to extend enterprise-grade video collaboration to everyone," said Andy Miller, CEO, Polycom.
Enables users to securely join conference
Polycom RealPresence CloudAXIS Suite brings contacts from all the presence-based applications into a global directory of participants.
Users can then drag and drop this global directory into a Polycom business-class video collaboration session enabling others outside an organisation to securely join the conference via their browser with a single click of the mouse.
The solution enables service providers and partners to deliver multipoint Video Collaboration-as-a-Service (VCaaS) for secure, affordable B2B and B2C offerings. Eventually, this will create new revenue streams and drive video adoption among business clients.
The first-of-its-kind software solution runs as a virtual edition on industry- standard hardware and will help in the delivery of video collaboration virtualised from the data centre.
"Polycom is delivering a groundbreaking solution, which we believe will eliminate barriers for adoption and significantly accelerate the use of video collaboration across any size enterprise or any industry," said Zeus Kerravala, founder and principal analyst of ZK Research.
The Polycom RealPresence CloudAXIS Suite will be available to enterprises in the first quarter of 2013.
