S. Korean airline favours Abacus SmartPrice system

Travel agents using the system can experience efficiencies to better serve customers.

Travel agents offering Asian Airlines tickets can now offer better rates to their customers now that the airline has decided to use Abacus’ SmartPrice system.

Abacus International, Inc., a provider of solutions for the airline industry, said South Korea’s Asian Airlines has integrated its internal fare-authorisation system called i-Auth to the Abacus SmartPrice.

This integration makes it easier for the airlines’ travel agents to ask for ad-hoc discount off FIT (free individual travellers) fares on Asiana Airlines’ i-Auth, and are able to auto-price the tickets with discount approval code from Asiana Airlines.

This convenience translates to efficiency as travel agents can more accurately retrieve the fares with discount with lesser time to search and verify fare conditions.

“Travel agents requesting for discounts for the best fares will benefit from these enhancements,” said Suh YoungBae, Head of Commercial IT Team, Asiana Airlines. “The result is increased business efficiency and productivity, and faster execution, which all go towards improving the performance of our customers’ business.”
