Will enable SMBs to design and build their physical IT infrastructures

Energy management company Schneider Electric today announced a new solution for SMBs (small medium businesses) to design and build their physical IT infrastructure.

Dubbed InfraStruxure, the solution includes both hardware and software and targets small IT environments with data centre of up to two megawatts. Schneider Electric claims that InfraStruxure is the first of its kind aimed at SMBs.

"The rapid adoption of new business technologies and the influx of increasingly challenging amounts of data have made intelligent IT operations critical to any size business - not just large corporations," said T.S. Khoo, vice president for IT ASEAN at Schneider Electric. "But because the industry primarily uses a component approach, current offerings do not address the growing complexity of critical, small IT spaces."

According to the statement, businesses will be able to design a tailored combination of hardware and software to leverage virtualisation, reduce downtime and elevate efficiency, among others.
