Sanyos ultra portable multimedia projector PLC-XD 2600 could be a good choice for those who are looking for cost and power efficiencies in projectors and are generally in a hurry. Actually, who isnt?

Setting up this projector is easyits auto setup function corrects vertical shape distortion. After a presentation meeting, if you want to pack up and leave quickly, you can just use the direct off function. This function allows turning off of the projector by unplugging the cable without pressing the power button.

The PLC-XD 2600 comes with some new improvements. For example, the lamp life in Eco mode has been extended to 6,000 hours, twice as long as the conventional model. This means lower running cost for the projector as the lamp replacement cycle gets longer.

This model is equipped with Wired LAN (RJ-45) that allows the user to manage and control the projector via network.

Sanyo says this projector is environment friendly: it consumes less power in standby mode (power savings of 80 per cent in this mode).

Though the projectors design is compact (W13.1xH3.4xD9.7 inch), it feels a bit heavy at 2.6 kg. But as far as the projection quality is concerned, the performance is good. Even at a considerable throw distance in conference situations, we found the brightness, sharpness and colour quality of pictures quite optimum. The model provides brightness of 2600 lumens.
