Singapore Polytechnic (SP) will be implementing a technological platform in an effort to consolidate its communication systems onto one base, the tertiary institute announced on 31 October.
The unified communications (UC) platform will enable the SP community to connect, communicate and share digital content in real time, according to the announcement.
SP will team up with HP (Hewlett Packard) for the project and leverage UC Solution for Microsoft Lync 2010.
Benefits of the platform, according to SP, include improved collaboration, easy management and cost efficiency by consolidating voice and data communications.
The solution, which aims to push SP towards a borderless environment, will be rolled out progressively in 2013.
