M1 Limited, one of the three cellular communications services providers in Singapore, released its unaudited group financial results for Q1 2012 (the three months ended March 31, 2012). Key details below.
* Service revenue rose 3.9 percent to S$191.7 million.
* Net profit after tax went down by 5.3 percent to S$40.3 million
* Revenue from non-voice services went up by 2.2 percent, and represented 36.9 percent of total service revenue.
Executives also reported that "as at 31 March 2012 [M1's] total mobile customer base stood at 2.014 million" and that its fixed customer base had grown to 50,000.
M1 CEO Karen Kooi sounded a positive statement upon the financial announcement. "Based on the current economic outlook and barring any unforeseen circumstances, we are maintaining our guidance of stable performance for 2012," she said.
