SingTel launches Unified Communications as-a-Service suite

Cloud service includes voice, video, messaging and presence

Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) has launched a new addition to its suite of cloud services: the Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS), a hosted suite of products for enterprises that include voice, video, managing and presence.

A press statement by the voice and data solutions provider said UCaaS is ideal for enterprises looking to shift from traditional PABX systems to a consumption-based model.

Cloud Hosted

Hosted in the cloud, it can be deployed quickly, avoiding the long provisioning lead times associated with traditional infrastructure implementations.

The statement further said UCaaS  integrates  well with enterprises' existing infrastructure and therefore offers the option of a hybrid UCaaS platform.

Such an option would give enterprises the flexibility to expand regionally to remote offices without the need for on-premise communications infrastructure, according to the statement.

UCaaS is offered on a per employee monthly subscription scheme and is flexible enough to cater to the different needs of desk-bound employees, said the statement further.

With UcaaS, enterprise employees will be able to use collaboration tools such as telephony, instant messaging, presence, conferencing and mobility seamlessly through fixed lines or through mobile devices, the statement claimed.
