TIBCO is a multi-national business integration and process management software company that specialises in enabling real-time business.  For government departments and private enterprises, an event is an occurrence, a happening, such as a visa application, an airline flight taken, or a bank account opened.

Adams, who is a former US airforce officer and technology adviser to the US airforce Intelligence Agency, said enterprises can gain considerable advantages by adopting the 'Event-Decision architecture approach.
