Sunil Desai, Director for Managed Services at Dimension Data Asia Pacific, points out that the bulk of support-related expenses fall outside the scope of traditional support offerings. It is important therefore to identify and eliminate 'hidden' expenses.

If this doesn't work, the service provider is notified to provide the necessary support, and the description of the problem is repeated. All these steps take time, which translates to lost revenue and increases the risk that information may be passed on incompletely or inaccurately.
