Samsung clashes with labor group over underage worker allegations in China

Michael Kan | Dec. 18, 2012
Samsung is facing accusations that the company deliberately tried to hide the employment of underage workers at a Chinese supplier, after a labor protection group said it found three girls under the age of 16 employed at the factory.

The HTNS factory is based in the Chinese city of Huizhou and employs 1100 workers, according to China Labor Watch. Monthly overtime among assembly line workers can exceed 150 hours, far beyond the 36 hours Chinese labor laws allow, the group added.
