SINGAPORE, 16 MARCH 2010 Guests at Asia's first integrated family resort located in Singapore will not just be treated to world-class hospitality services when they check in. They will also be assured of world-class IT services as Japan's NEC has committed to deliver 24x7 managed services to Resorts World Sentosa for the next three years.
NEC Asia won the contract to deliver the managed services to Resorts World Sentosa, which opened last January in record time.
The resort complex combines hotels, shopping and dining establishments, a casino, convention centre, spa and other attractions such as a marine theme park and museum, and Universal Studios, which is opening this week.
Under the contract, NEC will provide 24x7 service desk operations and IT technical support, asset management and desktop security operations, among others. The services contract will involve more than 40,000 network points across the 49-hectare development valued at S$6.59 billion (US$4.7 billion).
Resorts World Sentosa said it chose NEC for its reputation and experience. We are confident that they will be able to provide the managed services required to support our round-the-clock operations as well as value-add to the world-class services we provide, said Yap Chee Yuen, senior vice president and head of IT, Resorts World Sentosa.
NEC Asia, which specialises in systems integration and consultancy services, said IT support services are important to the operations of Resorts World Sentosa as guests expect uninterrupted services to make their visit to the resort pleasant.
NEC is experienced in providing similar IT managed services in Japan and globally, and we are extremely thrilled to be chosen by Resorts World Sentosa again, to support them for another part of its operations, in this mammoth destination, said NEC Asia's CEO Kiyofumi Kusaka.
Providing uninterrupted IT services and operations to Resorts World Sentosa is in line with NEC Asia's mission to be a regional hub for IT services.
NEC Asia continues to set its sights on developing and extending its outsourcing services to clients in this region, the company said.
NEC Asia is a subsidiary of NEC Corporation, a provider of Internet, broadband network and enterprise business solutions. Its Asia Pacific headquarters is located in Singapore.
