Amdocs helps mobile ad provider expand

Veronica C. Silva | Oct. 27, 2011
Amdocs' solution interfaces apps and solutions of mobile firms with Trudon's solutions.

Mobile and technology solutions are bridging economies, and one proof of this borderless capability is a tie-up among mobile solutions and services providers from across three geographic regions.

Coordinating borderless solutions and capabilities was the task that Amdocs did for South Africa's Trudon, Singapore's Cellcity and Israel's MobeeArt.

Trudon, a South African provider of search and digital advertising services, has recently looked to Amdocs to be able to deliver new services from applications from Cellcity and MobeeArt.

In only three months, MobeeArt's mobile site creation solution and Cellcity's mobile applications have been deployed in Trudon. The joint mobile solution now supports Trudon's yellow pages applications and sites, and enables Trudon to offer small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) mobile website creation abilities and optimisation services. The newly deployed solution supports a wide range of mobile devices and tablets.

Johannesburg-based Trudon is the owner and publisher of the Yellow Pages, the Phone Book, Yellow Pages Mobile and the operator assisted 10-11-8 business enquiries.

Revenue streams

"Thanks to the solution introduced to us by Amdocs, we can help our customers drive additional revenues by offering them more innovative ways to advertise and engage with potential customers via any advertising media," said Thabo Seopa, managing director, Trudon. "We are also able to provide a higher-value experience for consumers who now have many more options of searching for local products and services on their mobile phones while on the go."

Amdocs didn't specify in the press statement which particular solution was used to deploy the mobile solutions in Trudon. But Amdocs has specific offerings to help providers deliver local advertising through traditional print channels and emerging Internet, mobile, iTV channels and partners. These offerings include the Amdocs Consumer Engagement, which enables innovative advertising products across multiple digital media, social networks and mobile platforms, and the Amdocs Advertiser Engagement, which seamlessly links and automates all business processes related to advertising throughout the organisation.

"Amdocs has been addressing the needs of local search and marketing service providers like Trudon for over 30 years. Since we harness the advanced technologies of innovative companies which meet the specific needs of these service providers, Trudon knew that they could rely on us to lead this initiative," said Rebecca Prudhomme, vice president of product and solutions marketing, Amdocs. "By working together with Cellcity and MobeeArt, we have successfully enabled Trudon to enlarge its mobile media footprint."
