Extending Malaysia's multi-protocol label switching virtual private network coverage

HONG KONG, 15 JULY 2009 CPCNet Hong Kong and Telekom Malaysia will collaborate to extend their multi-protocol label switching virtual private network coverage to Malaysia.

The point-of-presence will be established in the managed data centre of Telekom Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, and will be commissioned in September.

CPCNet Hong Kong, a wholly owned subsidiary of CITIC 1616 Holdings, provides communications and security solutions in the Asia Pacific. Telekom Malaysia specialises in integrated information and communications services.

In addition to data centre services, the two companies will collaborate closely on VPN network, international private leased circuits, local connectivity services and comprehensive managed services.

Malaysia has bucked the recent global trend towards declining foreign direct investment. Last year, foreign direct investment totalled US$12.9 billion, which is 53.4 per cent higher than in the previous year.
