LinkedIn has launched a brand new LinkedIn app for the iPad, the professional networking company has announced.

LinkedIn said that 22 percent of LinkedIn traffic is coming from mobile devices and iPad is the fastest growing device on LinkedIn (250 percent year over year, 2011 to 2012).

"From building your professional network, to gathering the most important and decisive information to stay ahead, you are now one swipe away from the necessary tools and content to be more productive - wherever you work," LinkedIn said in a statement.

Some of the new app's key features are Calendar sync, LinkedIn Today refresh, What co-workers are sharing module, Who's viewed my profile module and Who's changed jobs module and congratulate feature.

The Calendar sync feature gives you an informative snapshot of all the people you will be meeting that day and everything you need to know about them - who they are, where they work and even who you know in common

LinkedIn Today refresh provides timely, relevant news surfaced by what your connections and industry peers are sharing and reading.

What co-workers are sharing module provides filtered updates on your current co-workers' activities (both connections and non-connections).

For the app to work, one must be on iOS 5.0.
