He added that small and medium businesses (500 staff or less) are usually financially constrained. UC opens up telecommuting opportunities for such businesses, cutting real estate costs that account for a large part of their expense.
For small and medium enterprises (more than 500 staff), UC facilitates online training across different locations, Kruger noted.
Kruger expects UC to be increasingly embedded into businesses in future. Additionally, enterprises will move away from deploying UC applications towards hosted UC services, he said. Do not view UC simply as a solution, but ask what your business needs are before deploying it.
