Global Crossing unveils new security solution for enterprises

Company teams up with Fortinet and Dimension Data for its offering.

SINGAPORE, 8 JUNE 2011 – Global Crossing, a provider of IP solutions, has introduced Global Crossing Security Solutions, a managed security services offering, for its enterprise customers.

The new suite of security services includes incident handling, event correlation and remediation of threats.

As part of the offering, Global Crossing is using appliances developed by security industry player Fortinet for features including firewall, application control, intrusion prevention service, Web content filtering protection, and anti-virus and anti-spam capabilities.

“Working with Fortinet, Global Crossing is giving customers a highly comprehensive and capable information security solution that alleviates the burden of managing and enforcing business and information security policies in the network,” said David Siegel, vice president of IP/data services product management at Global Crossing.

Dimension Data, an IT solutions and services provider and a Fortinet partner, will support Global Crossing’s team to deliver the service.” We are thrilled to be the network security standard for Global Crossing’s new managed security offering,” said Matt Pley, vice president of carrier sales at Fortinet. “The combination of Global Crossing, Dimension Data and Fortinet is a powerful one that will offer end-users the ability to have easy-to-use enterprise level network security protection with the benefit of remote management,” he added.
