HP recently introduced a new management solution for cloud computing that offers security and flexibility for mobile devices in the enterprise.
A new addition to HP's Converged Cloud portfolio is the HP Enterprise Cloud Services-Mobility which offers fast and flexible deployment in response to some of the recent challenges faced by IT professionals in managing the enterprise. In particular, the solution seeks to address issues relating to the use of mobile devices in the enterprise and on the cloud.
HP noted that the IT department is currently challenged to deliver services and applications to mobile users and on the cloud without compromising security. The HP Enterprise Cloud Services-Mobility helps IT set the appropriate security policies and access controls to protect valuable enterprise assets while making sure that mobile users in the enterprise can access the corporate network when needed.
"Mobility in the workplace continues to be a key focus and concern for IT executives," said Rama Adaikalavan, general manager, HP Enterprise Services, Southeast Asia. "HP Enterprise Cloud Services - Mobility leverages HP's strong cloud portfolio by providing clients with a mobility service that provides the highest level of user experience and productivity while minimising risk for IT."
To protect the corporate network, the solution allows users to download approved enterprise applications from a secure storefront. For collaborative work, files can be uploaded and synchronised between the HP cloud and any mobile device. Mobile data is protected by encryption during transit and at rest.
With the HP mobility solution, the cloud storage can also be configured to scale up or down.
HP Enterprise Cloud Services - Mobility is already available globally with different service features and pricing, including user-based pricing for users with multiple devices.
